The Village of Schoolcraft is a General Law Village with a Council/Manager form of government. The Village Council is the highest elected body and consists of a President and six Trustees. The Village President serves a two-year term, and the Village Trustees serve four-year terms.

The meetings of the Schoolcraft Village Council are held on the first and third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall located at 442 N. Grand Street, Schoolcraft, MI.
